Blogging vs Vlogging? What is the difference?

Blogging vs Vlogging? What is the difference?
Every brand or individual wants to get more visitors to their blog. There are basically two traffic generation strategies blogging and vlogging to generate huge amount of traffic and gain potential customers.
Blogging is all about writing articles and vlogging is all about creating videos.
But the question is what to choose? Blogging or vlogging?
blogging and vlogging

Blogging

Blogging is like an online log, where an author can share his thoughts, experience or whatever he wants to share with his readers about any specific topic.

Advantages of Blogging

1. Easy to set up

It’s very easy to set up a blog. You don’t need extended technical knowledge to create a blog. There are several platforms like WordPress, blogger, Thumblr… making our life simpler for creating a blog.

2. Does not require massive equipment

To create a blog, you need not to have a lot of equipment. All you need to have is A computer and a good internet connection.
Get huge traffic to your site, by using SEO and proper promotion of your content on social networking sites, blog directories … and earn decent amount of money by using Adsence ads, affiliated marketing…

Disadvantages of Blogging

1. Need to know about SEO

SEO is all about ranking a site in search engines. To generate traffic to your blog, you should have good knowledge about SEO. Learn On page SEO and Off page SEO and implement them.
  • Use proper title for your blog posts.
  • Use High frequency and low competition Keywords in your articles.
  • Use images in your blog posts and try to have at least one image for every blog post.

2. Update your blog regularly

Another thing you must notice here is, you need to update your blog on regular basis. Convert your visitors to regular blog readers by providing them quality stuff that they are searching for via your articles.

Vlogging

Vlogging stands for video blogging in which one can share his thoughts or whatever he wants to share with others by creating videos.

Advantages of Vlogging

1. Doesn’t require professional writing skills

Unlike blog, you don’t need professional writing skills to create a vlog.  If you can create quality videos, you will get huge visits with minimal SEO effort and earn money from your videos.

2. You can get more user engagement

Generally  people used to watch videos rather than seeing of written stuff. So by creating good vlogs you can get more traffic and more user engagement.

Disadvantages of Vlogging

1. Need expensive equipment

To create a vlog, you need to spend some amount of money for equipment.  You need to have a camera to shoot high-quality video and a professional video editor software like adobe after effects.

2. Difficult to edit after submission

We can easily edit blog post after publishing but when it comes to vlogging editing is not an easy job. If you find any mistake in your uploaded video, you need to delete it and edit the original one and again upload the video in your channel. Sometimes editing is difficult, so you may have to re-record the video.

3. It takes time to vlog

It takes time to record a video, edit the video and upload the video. You require 2-4 hours for a video. So you must spend some amount of time to create vlog and to become a good vlogger.

Blogging or vlogging? It’s up to you

Its depends on your opinion whether to choose blogging or vlogging? If you have good writing skills then go for creating a blog and share your knowledge through your blog articles. If you have good speaking skills then go for Vlogging.
You can also create a vlog in parallel to blog. Just create a blog and embed video into your articles so that you can get more traffic, more user engagement, and more earnings$$$.

Bing Partners With HackerRank To Show Executable Code Snippets In Search Results

All Programmers, Heads Up.

Bing, the search engine by Microsoft joined their hands with HackerRank, an Indian based platform for competitive programming challenges to deliver something because of which Programmers would rejoice for their lifetime. From now on, whenever you type a concept related to programming (like an array or a sorting algorithm, for example), you would see code snippet appearing in search results page right in front of you.

This is a lifesaver for many people who are coding because it is not always possible to remember every concept and that is the reason people come back to sites like stackoverflow all the time. If not for that, because of how important the reusable code is for a Programmer, many times what we do is copy the code and paste in our editor. It is not always sensible to write every line in a program on our own if the solution to a part of the problem already exists. This new update in Bing search engine eliminates navigation headaches and saves some time. This update would be of great help for others too. Imagine a person learning to program finds the answer he want right there in search results without navigating to various websites or a student who has an interview the next day who could use this feature to brush up his concepts.

Announcing the same thing in their blog, HackerRank says

“Microsoft’s search engine Bing is and HackerRank are teaming up to provide millions of programmers an easy way to find useful search results. The best part is that the code runs on a live code editor within Bing’s search engine.

Typically, engineers go to search engines to get answers on various sites like, Stackoverflow, Stackexchange and other blogs. Now, you have a streamlined alternative that will not only spit out the code solution you need but also edit the code and play with it in real-time. No IDE installation required. This will save you endless time you used to spend going back and forth from search to your code editor.

Which means, the code editor you see is a live editor. You can also run your own code and see the results for a quick check right then and there without installing any IDE into your computer. All you need to do is just remove the code which appeared according to your search, type your code and hit Run. The integrated IDE will run the code for you and displays results within no time. If your code is erroneous, it would also display it along with line number as normal code editor would do.

Currently, you can search concepts in Python, PHP, Java, C, C++ and C#. The great thing here is, for example, you want to search for, say, quick sort algorithm in Java. After you found the code, in the code editor, you can switch to another language from menu and see what the same program would look like in that language as well. This would be useful for people who are familiar with one language and willing to learn another because they would be able to see the changes.

Get Free Unlimited VPN on the New Opera Desktop Browser

The desktop browser Opera has been around for a long time, but it has lost ground to the likes of Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. Opera is doing a lot to lure users back, and its latest feature is a doozy. Opera now comes with unlimited, free VPN for life!

A VPN, or Virtual Private Network, basically masks your online identity and tricks the site you are visiting into thinking you are in a different location than where you actually are. It’s an important security element and you should be using VPNs more often than you think.

What Is “Free and Unlimited”?

VPNs usually have one of two restrictions. Either they restrict the amount of data you can download and upload, or they ask you to pay. Opera’s new VPN is both free and offers unlimited data, so you have a completely unrestricted VPN built right into your browser.

What Makes Opera VPN Special?

On any other web browser, you’ll need to install extensions to use a VPN. However, you can’t always trust those. By baking it into the browser, Opera—a long-time Internet stalwart—gives you a sense of trust and certainty.

Also, free VPNs can be unbearably slow to use. VPNs route your data through a remote server, so the speed is slower than your usual bandwidth. But Opera’s VPN, at the moment, is working as fast as any paid VPN.

Additionally, it’s remarkably easy to use, compared to extensions.

To activate it: Go to Menu > Settings (or Preferences on Mac) > Privacy & Security > Enable VPN.
To use it: Click VPN in the URL bar to get a drop-down menu. Toggle it On or Off. And select from one of three VPN countries: USA, Canada, or Germany.
You’ll probably need to refresh the page once to reload the page using the VPN. And any new tab you open will start with the VPN enabled, till you turn it off.

Can Opera VPN Be Trusted?

Normally, free VPNs aren’t too reliable or trustworthy. VPNs like the Hola Unblocker extension for Chrome and Firefox are notorious for their flaws and top most “extensions to avoid” lists.

For a good VPN, you would usually need to pay for a subscription. We have taken a detailed look at several to come up with a list of the best VPN services and our constant advice is to purchase a paid VPN and not trust the free ones.

However, the new Opera VPN changes that! You see, a while back, Opera bought a reputed paid VPN service called SurfEasy. And the “free, unlimited VPN” you get now is through that deal, and features all of the protections you would thus expect from a paid VPN.

What Security Do I Get with This VPN?

Most VPNs are not going to guarantee you complete anonymity and privacy. VPNs are less secure than most people think, but they are still better for your security than using no VPN at all.

For example, the Opera VPN will automatically mask your IP address and show a different one to the websites you’re visiting. That way, you can browse the Internet with more privacy and they can’t tell it’s you.

Also, connecting to public Wi-Fi networks like those at a coffee shop can be risky since those are usually easy for hackers to crack. A VPN gives you an additional level of security there too, while letting you browse as you normally would.

Can I Watch Region-Restricted Videos?

Yes you can! If YouTube says, “Sorry, the uploader has not made this video available in your country”, then don’t worry. Enable the VPN, choose a country, and reload the page. You should be good to go! It’s far easier than other tricks to bypass YouTube’s regional filter.

I tried it out with several other region-restricted websites and services, like Comedy Central, and Opera’s VPN worked flawlessly each time. It tracks the amount of data you use and seems to be alarmed even when you hit 10MB, but I wouldn’t pay much heed to that because it worked fine even when I hit 200MB.

Can I Watch Unrestricted Netflix?

Nope! The one service that Opera’s VPN does not support is Netflix. It’s understandable, given that Netflix has publicly banned VPNs because users were accessing content not meant for them.

So even if you’re on Opera, you’ll need to stick to your own country’s Netflix catalog. Of course, there are other ways to watch all of Netflix no matter where you live.

What Are the Problems With Opera VPN?

Right now, there is very little to criticize about Opera’s new VPN offering, considering it’s free, fast, and unlimited—a rare combination. That said, here are a few things I’d be glad to see:

Only three countries supported so far: Germany, USA, and Canada. Opera has said that they will be expanding this list slowly.
No support for Opera mobile so far. It’s a fantastic app with some great space-saving features, but it won’t get VPN. That said, there’s better news. Opera is looking into releasing standalone, system-wide Opera VPN apps for iOS and Android, according to Ars Technica.
It’s only in the Developer version of Opera at the moment, not in the stable version.

How to Get Opera VPN

So as we just noted, the stable version of Opera doesn’t have this feature yet and it has only been rolled out in Opera’s Developer version. But don’t let that bother you, it’s still a free download and works on all major desktop operating systems.

Will You Switch to Opera Now?

Opera has been on quite a roll lately, but people find that it’s difficult to switch to Opera completely. However, with new features like a built-in ad-blocker, a video pop-out system, and now this free VPN service, are you ready to change your mind and swap out your current desktop browser for Opera? If not, why not?

3 Android N Features That Google didn’t Announce

Prior to few weeks of regular launch, Google has already launched their next version of Android called Android N. Although, the name is still not decided but it seems it will be Android Nutella. However, this is still a rumor as the name is not officially decided yet. However, Google has posted a blog post where it featured some important features what are new in Android N. If you have read this post but didn’t install Android N Developer Preview until now, here are some more features, what you might like as well.

3 Android N Features That Google didn’t Announce

These features are not announced officially but you can find them on the Developer Preview. These are equally awesome features included by Google in Android N.
Android N

Call Blocker

Google is going to ruin some small developers, who have developed call blocker app for Android as they have officially included an in-built call blocker in Android N Developer Preview. Although, it is probably the most awaited feature of Android, what people had been looking for, but Google didn’t include that in Android Marshmallow. Finally, you can find a native call blocker in Android N. Obviously, this will block calls as well as SMS. The most important thing is all the settings will be saved to your Google account. Therefore, if you reset your device and re-sign with your same Google account, you can get them at once. Once you block someone, he/she cannot send you any text or call you frequently. This is really very helpful who often get calls from spammers, website bots etc.

Dark Theme/Night Mode

This is another awaited feature of Android N that this really beautiful during low light area. Android already has low light settings (brightness changer) but sometime it feels awkward when you are going through a dark sight. Sometime, you just need a complete dark theme instead of brightness changer. Such feature was not available on Android Marshmallow or previous versions. However, now you can get a Night Mode on Android N. BY changing the core theme of Android N device, you would be able to get rid of eyestrain if you use your mobile a lot in low light area.

Double Tap on Recent Button to Switch Last Used App

This is another awesome feature of Android N that will let you switch to a different app faster and in an easier way. Previously on Android Marshmallow and older version, if you click on the “Recent” button, all the recently used apps will come out. Then, you can browse them and open any app that is in the list. However, now it has become a lot easier to switch from current app to last used app. You will just have tap twice on the RECENT button to get things done. It works like a chain. That means, suppose, you have opened Google Maps >> Google Keep >> Google Chrome >> Photos and now you are on Photos. Therefore, if you double tap on the Recent button, you will be switched to Google Chrome. After that, you will be switched to Google Keep and so on.

Friends Feed Lets You See Direct Content From Friends and Pages You Like, Hides Annoying Promotions

Friends Feed Lets You See Direct Content From Friends and Pages You Like, Hides Annoying Promotions

Facebook is a website without with many of us cannot imagine a day. Fun fact, if you Imagine Facebook as a country, then with approx. more than 1.2 billion monthly active users, it turns out that it the third most populated country after India and China leaving U.S. behind. People share their personal life events, show support for causes, respond to news on Facebook everyday. When it became available for business, creators and entrepreneurs started using to promote their products to the whole world without easily.
Leaving all these statistics behind, as a normal person having a Facebook Account what would you do on the site? You make friends, like pages, join groups, post your content or like, comment and share other content which you find interesting. Other than that, you would scroll down your News feed to check what happened when you were away. Posts from friends, pages will get displayed on your news feed where you can access the updated content.
When you log in to your account, what you actually you see on your wall? Rather than posts from people/pages you liked, you would find friend suggestions, sponsored posts, page suggestions which were liked by your friends, brands ads etc. Well, even though there is a reason for Facebook to do all these things in the name of promotion, we, as users sometimes miss crucial updates on our news feed since we cannot scroll long time. If we happened to have more friends and liked many pages, to read all of the updates itself is a tedious task, on top of that these unwanted content would make us even more disturbing.
Same problem was faced by Juraj Ivan and made him to find a solution to it. In his own words,
“‘ve used to spent too much time on facebook and was looking for a way to minimize it. I realized, that I visit facebook too often because there is always something new, but mostly it’s stories from people and pages I don’t follow. But these stories appear on my news feed because my friends liked them. Having my news feed cluttered like that, I often miss stories from friends themselves. ”
To avoid all this nonsense, he made a Chrome extension called friends feed. This extension filters stories liked by your friends on your feed and only displays content directly from your friends and pages you liked. He also adds that building this thing took him just 24 hours.
Great work, mate.
Friends-Feed-extenson-img3
As far as I’ve tested it, Friends feed is working fine. Using this extension is pretty easy. Open your Chrome browser and sign in using your google account, go to webstore, download the extension. Once it gets added to your browser, you are good to go. Now you can use friends feed on your facebook account to avoid posts like
Friends-Feed-extenson-img1
And posts like below only get showed up on your feed, which are directly from your friends or pages.
Friends-Feed-extenson-img2
This extension is available for Safari Browser too. You can visit the website for more information.
On the contrary, We don’t know how Facebook gonna react if they came to know about friends feed as it’s against their business model. But, it is great to see such an intriguing idea transforming into a working product and we should appreciate the developer for his effort and hope similar products in future.

Microsoft Changes Storage Plans for OneDrive Users. Here is What You Should Do

The tech giant Microsoft altered storage plans for it’s OneDrive users. Even though this is not the first time for OneDrive that the storage plans have been changed, but this time the whole thing became a little mess and caused confusion to so many people.
Long Story short,
The starting point of all this confusion is when Microsoft offered unlimited cloud OnDrive storage for Office365 subscribers last year. But the company could see its users taking advantage of this facility and started storing HD videos, movies, games, backups, etc. So, the company wanted to change OneDrie storage plans by limiting the space to the users. Last month, Microsoft had announced changes on OneDrive storage plans and removed unlimited storage option to Office365 subscribers, saying
“Since we started to roll out unlimited cloud storage to Office 365 consumer subscribers, a small number of users backed up numerous PCs and stored entire movie collections and DVR recordings. In some instances, this exceeded 75 TB per user or 14,000 times the average. Instead of focusing on extreme backup scenarios, we want to remain focused on delivering high-value productivity and collaboration experiences that benefit the majority of OneDrive users.”
According to this change,
  • No unlimited storage options for Office 365 Home, Personal or University subscribers from now on. The storage limit would get reduced to 1TB.
  • The company also removed 100GB and 200GB paid plans and replaced them with limited a 50GB plan for $1.99 pmo in early 2016.
  • For Free OneDrive storage users, the storage would decrease from 15GB to 5GB for existing and new users. The 15GB camera bonus was also got discontinued. These changes would take effect starting early 2016.
At that time, the company also posted workarounds for users who already using storage greater than changed amount. According to which,
  • If you are a office 365 user using storage more than 1TB, you would get notified regarding this change that you have to move your files, with 12 months of notice time.
  • If you are an OneDrive user using more than 5GB, you would also get notified regarding the change in early 2016 when update gets rolled out, and you can keep your files at least for 12 months.
  • These changes won’t effect if you are using upgraded OneDrive 100GB or 200GB storage plans.
The company even offered a pro-rated refund for Office 365 subscribers, in case they are unhappy with this storage change.
As you can expect, these changes disappointed many Microsoft Customers. Even though reducing unlimited storage for Office 365 subscribers to 1TB won’t effect many people, reduction in OneDrive storage got protested by many. A petition asking Micorsoft to give their storage back received more than 72k votes forcing the company to resolve the issue. So, Microsoft took it’s decision back.

Douglas Pearce, Group Program manager from Microsoft, responded apologizing the user community and said that
”
Office 365 Home, Personal, and University subscriptions will continue to include 1 TB of storage. Any subscriber who received additional storage as part of our unlimited offer will keep it for at least 12 months. For anyone unhappy with the decision to not offer unlimited storage, we will offer a full refund.
For customers of our free service who have over 5 GB of content and who are directly impacted by the storage change, we will offer one free year of Office 365 Personal, which includes 1 TB of storage. These customers will receive an email with redemption information early next year.
In addition, for our biggest fans who have been loyal advocates for OneDrive, we are adding a new offer that lets you keep your existing 15 GB of free storage when the changes happen next year. If you also have the 15 GB camera roll bonus, you’ll be able to keep that as well. From now until the end of January, you can sign up to keep your storage at the link below.
http://aka.ms/onedrivestorage
Now this is what You should do –
So, no change regarding limiting storage of Office 365 subscribers, but if you are an OnDrive Storage user and don’t want to reduce your storage from 15Gigs to 5gigs, you have to go to this link and select “keep you free storage”. This option is available for new and existing users until end of January 2016. For those who sign up after Jan ’16, would only get 5GB of OneDrive Storage.
What About Loyalty Bonus ?
Back in 2014, while increasing OneDrive storage limit from 7GB to 15 GB, the company included 10GB as “Loyalty Bonus”. If you are still using your “Loyalty Bonus”, and not sure whether you would still get that or not, no need to worry. Famous Microsoft New site WinBeta found answer to this on Twitter

Set Private Network in your Windows 10

By default, Windows counts all the networks as Public, which is not safe for any PC unless or until your administrator has told you to do so or restricted by the office’s network admin. if you are familiar with these terms (Private Network and Public Network), you may know what they do. But, if you don’t know, let me explain.
Public Network: Whenever, you will connect your computer to a network like Ethernet or Wi-Fi, your PC will ask you to share that device with others on the same network. If you click on YES, your PC will be set to Public. Therefore, your PC will be visible by any other device that is connected to the same network.
Private Network: It does the opposite thing of Public network. If you click on NOon the confirmation dialogue after connecting to a new network, your PC will be set to Private. File sharing, printing etc. will be blocked by your Firewall.
Windows is smart enough and thus, Firewall will be set up according to the option you will choose. Once you choose an option, it would be quite difficult for you to change the settings – if you don’t know about them. But, this is obviously possible and not much time consuming too.

Set Private Network in Windows 10

Ethernet Cable
Here are some different methods to set private network in Windows 10. Although, some procedures are mainly for Windows 10 but rest of them can be used on Windows 7 / 8 / 8.1 as well.
1] PowerShell
The Power Shell method is simply awesome and it takes only couple of seconds to get things done. At first, open Windows Power Shell with admin privilege. Then enter the following command,
Get-NetConnection Profile
use powershell to Set Private Network in Windows 10
It will let you show the network name and network category (Public/Private). Now, enter the following command,
Set-NetConnectionProfile -Name network_name -NetworkCategory Private
Note: Change the network_name with your actual network name.
In case, if you want to make the network public, just change the last word of the aforementioned command. In other words, use Public instead of Private.
2] Local Security Policy
This is quite good but it takes more time than PowerShell. In fact, all the other methods are about to take more time than the first method. Anyway, you should know that Local Security Policy is an in-built tool of Windows that takes care of various security related stuffs. It manages everything like local security, network security and all. Therefore, you can make use of this built-in tool to set private network in Windows 10.
At first, press Win + R and type secpol.msc and hit enter. Here you will get a folder named Network List Manager Policies. Click on this.
Now, you will get another option called Network. After opening this, you can find this window,
Local Security Policy in Windows
Now, switch to Network Location. By default, it should be set to either Not Configured or Public. Just select Private and click on Apple/OK.
That’s it.
3] Registry Editor
Registry Editor is yet another useful tool for Windows that will let you change network settings. Before using this tool, make sure you have created a backup of Registry editor and created a system restore point. If anything goes wrong, you can easily get back to your old Windows within minutes using these things.
Now, open Registry Editor. For that, press Win + R, type regedit and hit enter. Therefore, you will have to click on YES on UAC popup. After that, navigate through the following path,
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\Profiles
Here you will find some keys with a large number of digits. If you have already connected your PC to 4 different networks, you will get 4 different keys. That means, the more network you have connected to, the more keys you will get. Therefore, just click on each key and find out that you want to set to Private. You can find the network name on your right side after clicking on those folders. Here, you can also find Category.
use registry editor to Set Private Network in Windows 10
Just double click on the category and set the value to 1. Then, save your changes.
Public Network: 0
Private Network: 1
Domain Network: 2
This is as simple as that.
So, these are the three methods to set private network in Windows 10.
